TOPIC 1: BUYING A TRAIN TICKET.

A: Customer: you go to the ticket office at the train station. You want to go to Cambridge at 5pm by train. Buy a return ticket. Ask about the platform number and the possibility to go by bus. You have a student card to get a discount but you forgot it. Ask the ticket officer for information (maps, leaflets, places to go) about Cambridge.

B: Ticket officer: Give the customer the info required.

Location: geographically (by a mountain, river, lake, valley, prairie...)
Atmosphere: lively, busy, noisy, romantic, natural, touristy, rural, traditional, magical, urban, peaceful, quite, tropical…
Describe the old town: squares, gardens,castles, parks, waterfront, beach…
Best restaurant in town: It specialises in…; the menu is (varied, extravagant…)
Things to do in your free time: (you are a risk taker )Beach sports (surf, scuba diving, rock climbing…) Shopping (malls, street markets, big stores…) Mountain sports ( trekking, hang-gliding, parachuting, white waters rafting)
